The 1989 Barolo Brunate is a huge, massive, tannic, powerhouse, with great depth, superb definition, and gobs of earthy, black-cherry, and tar-like flavors. There is a sweetness to its inner-core of concentrated fruit. The wine's finish lingers for almost a minute. Although it can be drunk now, 3-5 years of cellaring will be beneficial. Readers who have cold cellars will be delighted to hear that this is a 20+ year wine. 93/100
