Falstaff: Helles Gelbgrün, Silberreflexe, feines lebendiges Mousseux. Ein Hauch von Walnuss, mit feinem Blütenhonig unterlegte reife Birnenfrucht, feine hefige Nuancen und zarter Honig im Hintergrund. Stoffig, zart nach Honigmelone, finessenreiche Säurestruktur, sehr gute Rasse, süßer Pfirsich im Nachhall, gute Länge, sehr cremiger Stil, reife Orangenfrucht im Finish, zitronig-mineralisch im Abgang, noch sehr jugendlich, sicheres Entwicklungspotenzial. 95/100

Decanter: Tasted in magnum, the nose shows evolved, honeyed, biscuity tones, with hints of lychee, white peach and fennel. The high percentage of Pinot Noir (61%) adds significant depth to the palate, though it's still brisk and fresh, with grapefruit and yellow citrus, underpinned by a driving line of minerality. From the excellent 2008 harvest, this was the first vintage Veuve to include 5% of wines aged in foudres. 93/100

James Suckling: A very upright, fresh and youthful vintage for Clicquot with lemon citrus, peach and almond nougat aromas. The palate has a brisk acid punch – assertive in 2008. Crisp lemon and peach fruit flavors hold bright, and there is some oyster shell chalkiness, too, leading into a warming, grilled nut-flavored finish. 93/100

Wine Enthusiast: A lively mousse is the starting point for this wine. It is intensely rich, dense and still young, with a soft background to the ripe white fruits that are cut with lime. From a vintage year whose wines need to age, this follows the pattern, so wait at least until 2018. 93/100
