Jancis Robinson : Slight development on the nose, a sweet senescence starting to show, orange notes, perfumed floral touches, even though there is still such pure red fruit. A light stemmy herbal character and something more spicy on the palate, more savoury. The tannins are fine-grained but still present, there’s great freshness and a serious intensity here even with a lightness of touch. Still relatively closed and needs time in the glass to offer itself to the drinker. More shy than the two 2017s just tasted but opens up to a peppery complexity and a sweet stemmy character, sweeter red fruit. It just keeps on changing in the glass, even over a short tasting of five minutes. But this is really not a wine you can describe in a five-minute tasting. You need a whole bottle and a whole evening. Long, finely textured. 18,5/20
