James Suckling (Kupfergrube): Here are all the herbs and minerals that the top vineyard sites of the Nahe give you, plus a touch of miso. The cool 2016 vintage has given this a sleeker and more restrained flavor profile than the riper vintages that followed, but has now reached a wonderful plateau. Fascinating chive and parsley character at the long, very subtle finish. Drink or hold. 96/100 (2021)

James Suckling (Hermannsberg): Sweet flowers, pie crust and peaches on the nose. So much depth and intensity on the palate. It starts in a bright and mineral place, but shifts and becomes more herbal as time goes on. Fresh mint and rosemary. Really rather stunning. This is ready to drink now, but will continue to age well. 97/100 (2021)

James Suckling (Felsenberg): A do or die wine that has a savage intensity right from the beginning, but it will be the super-mineral finish that will either blow your mind or make you reach for the ejector seat button. A great site has won another champion in Gut Hermannsberg! Drink now or hold. 96/100 (2017)
