Jancis Robinson: Packs a solid spontaneous-fermentation punch at this stage, pronounced herbaceous aromas sit on top of faint notes of tropical fruit. If I described the 2008 as approachable and slightly lacking in grip, the 2009 has certainly addressed these softie accusations. Minerality is still the key to the performance of the Halenberg here, power and structure presently representing the key attributes of a protégée, whose softer spots will take time to be revealed.
