Beschreibung

Parker: As this was bottled only a week before I tasted it, I suspect this rating will prove to be conservative once a few months have passed. The 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin is another prodigious version of this wine. How many wines in this world can be so huge yet so lacking the feeling of weight? There's plenty of layered spice but also a core of raspberries; rich tannins, yet no real astringency; and a long finish without any apparent heat. Wow! 98/100 (2017)

Jeff Leve: The dark red berries are well complimented with back note of blue fruit. Just a hint of oak, because the 2015 was aged in a second year foudre, from there you find pepper, herbs, earth and a hint of barnyard. On the palate is where this rocket ship really takes off. Thick, rich and opulent, the wine coats your mouth with layer after layer of fruit that shows a beautiful sense of purity. Power and elegance is the name of game here. This will age for decades. The wine was made from a blend of 70% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Grenache and 10% Counoise. 98/100 (2017)

Jancis Robinson: 60% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah, 20% Grenache.Exquisite raspberry fruit on the nose, then a surprisingly savoury palate with bitter cherry, firm tannin, full body, grainy tannin and fresh acidity. This is potent stuff that manages to be big in every dimension without being overworked. Very canny winemaking, with impeccable fruit purity. 18/20 (2017)

Falstaff: Kräftiges Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Dunkle Beeren, feine Kräuterwürze, etwas Garriquenuancen, tabakig, erdige Nuancen, feuchter Kies, dezente vetegale Noten. Komplex, saftig, rote Kirschen, florale Nuancen, seidige, tragende Tannine, straff im Abgang, gute Frisch, zitronig-salziger Nachhall. Wirkt bereits zugänglich, süße Ribisel im Abgang, bestechende Frische, klare Frucht im Abgang, Limetten im Nachhall, sicheres weiteres Reifepotenzial. 97/100 (2022)
