Henri Bonneau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Reserve des Celestins 2006

Jeff Leve: Medium-bodied and quite forward for Bonneau Celestins, the wine is perhaps more interesting on the nose with its blast of garrigue, kirsch and thyme-scented perfume. Soft, open and fruity, with a hint of black pepper in the cherry centric, earthy finish, this is already in its prime time drinking window. 94/100 (2019)

Wine Spectator: Mature in feel, but still plenty gutsy, with a bacony cedar and tobacco frame to the roasted plum and fig fruit. Lots of pepper, iron and brick dust notes weave through the finish. Grippy and plenty long, but nicely racy, with a mouthwatering saucisson note hanging on the very end. 94/100 (2011)
