Jancis Robinson (Hubacker): The Hubacker Grosses Gewächs of 2010 is the vinous proof that nobody masters the ride on the proverbial razor blade of a cool and wet vintage better than Klaus Peter Keller. Meticulous reduction of the crop to leave only perfectly healthy fruit and taking the high risk of delaying the harvest till late November rewarded him with extraordinary extract, which proved the ideal counterpart for the crispest of acidities. Rarely have vibrancy and structure shaped the character of a Hubacker as much as in this vintage. The fruit is subtle yet firm; stone-dusty minerality and a gentle almondy notion refine the tasting experience. (19/20, 2019)

Jancis Robinson (Pettenthal): The red slate of this vineyard produces a unique spicy aroma that is only inadequately described by a sprinkling of cinnamon on a sweet pink grapefruit. To me the Pettenthal certainly represents the softie among Keller's Grosse Gewächse, though the most delightful touch of bitter chocolate does put some contours into its profile. Acidity and minerality are administered with the gentlest of brush strokes. Very charming and graceful. (18/20, 2012)

Jancis Robinson (Kirchspiel): This has a slightly smoky/mineral note but very little actual development – ie there is still pure, rather gentle citrus aromas, lemon and grapefruit, and the merest hint of honey being the small sign that this is more than six years old. High acidity giving precision and freshness but as I often find with Keller's wines, and especially on the Kirchspiel, there is a delicacy and gentleness that almost makes you think it is soft on the finish, perhaps rounded rather than soft.
