Beschreibung
Jancis Robinson (zu Hipping): Extremely deep-flavoured and rich yet so amazingly racy! Very long, after displaying an impressively firm spine. Might it live as long as Her Majesty? 19/20 (2024)
Jancis Robinson (zu G-Max): Tasted blind. An American critic once gave 100 points to the G-Max 2012, but scores are always awarded in a context of time and occasion, and there can be no more thankless task for any wine than having to go head-to-head with the incredible G-Max 2009. In its present phase the 2012 is a little subdued, but does reveal glimpses of the traditional virtues of Riesling with aromas of ripe stone fruit, a hint of herbs and a fine dusty minerality. Starts off on the palate with an almost steely acidity, but then changes towards a more generous expression of fleshy peach and mild herbal notes. Just seems to lack a little in tension at this moment in time. 18.5/20 (2018)
Jancis Robinson (zu Morstein): Klaus Peter Keller is a very diplomatic man, and far from criticising his contemporary colleagues he explains the noticeable downturn of spontaneous fermentation aromas in the Morstein and his other Grosse Gewächse with the individual vintage conditions. I’m all for it, as it enables me to do more justice to the differences in terroir. In the case of the Morstein this is reflected in a harmonious partnership of minerality and spices, backed by a superb freshness of green and yellow fruit. If anything at all, the Morstein of 2012 has become even more elegant than its predecessors, with the merest hint of mint and nettles giving it an aromatic dimension. Despite its great concentration this is not about power, but precision. Chill to perfection in a cool mountain stream! 19/20 (2012)
Jancis Robinson (zu AbtsE): More green and tension on the nose than on the Hubacker and Kirchspiel. Crystalline and almost pungent. Super cool somehow. Remarkable acidity. But quite enough ripe fruit to balance this. 18,5/20 (2013)
