Parker: Made in a lighter style, but still a full-bodied, powerful wine, the dark purple-hued 2007 Ermitage Le Pavillon reveals aromas of creme de cassis, black truffles, cold steel, and crushed rocks. Dense and tannic, with good acidity, resounding richness, and a substantial finish, it is a top-notch effort that should evolve for three decades. 92-94/100

Jancis Robinson: Very dark crimson. So intense there is practically no nose at this stage – to begin with anyway. A little looser and fruitier than L'Ermite. Big and just a tad blowsy though it should certainly give pleasure. In spades. Lots of lift. Expanded in the glass. Very dry finish with real energy. 18++/20
