Brumont Chateau Montus La Tyre 2008

Decanter: The 2008 La Tyre offers a lovely bouquet of menthol, flowers, blackberries, blueberries and liquorice aromas. Perfectly balanced, the palate is fresh and delicate, with an elegant yet profound texture. It’s fresher and more incisive than the 2006 La Tyre. I like it today, but will be nice for the next 10–12 years. 94/100 (2022)

Jancis Robinson: rom the highest-elevation site in Madiran. First vintage was 2000. Aged in oak for two years.  Deep garnet colour, maturing nose that can't help but remind me of great Rioja with the oak and dried black fruit. Long, long finish. High tannins that grip the palate without drying it out too much, thanks to the acidic zing. A really fine example of Tannat at its mature best. 17/20 (2024)
