Brumont Chateau Montus La Tyre 2003 Magnum in 1er Holzkiste

Wine Enthusiast: The single-vineyard La Tyre comes from a steeply sloping parcel with views south to the Pyrenees mountains. Planted almost entirely to Tannat, it makes famous wines. The 2003 vintage, now at complete maturity, is still structured and massive. The tannins have smoothed out somewhat, giving great richness and depth of fruit and secondary flavors. It does not need aging, but it will last for many years. 96/100 (2015)

Jancis Robinson: The La Tyre vineyard is is half a degree cooler because of the sea breezes. Ripe plum nose, rich, notes of Black Forest gateau. Very concentrated, savoury yet packed with prunes and macerated cherries, hints of chocolate, some coffee. A touch of Thai basil. Very powerful, muscular tannins. A stallion of a wine. 17/20 (2010)
