Jeff Leve zum Chateau Trotanoy 2008: Full bodied and packed to the gilled with layers of juicy, sweet, chocolate coated, black cherries and plums. Stubbornly hanging on to its youth, the wine is concentrated, long, round and tannic. There is freshness, purity and a wealth of fruits in the finish that move from black cherry, to sweet, deep plum effortlessly. This is going to age quite nicely. 97/100 (2018)

James Suckling zum Chateau Trotanoy 2008: This is very muscular for the vintage, with blueberries, minerals, flowers and stones. Full bodied and powerful with beautiful rich tannins and a long, long finish. So much going on. 95/100 (2010)

Jeff Leve zum Chateau Leoville Poyferre 2008: With just a hint of age in its color, the wine is all about the cedar, tobacco, forest, licorice and dark red berry aromatics and concentrated, core of dark fruits, plush but firm tannins and chocolate. Even though you find some secondary development, this is still youthful, so allow it a few more years to develop before popping a cork. 93/100 (2018)

Jeff Leve zum Chateau Pape Clement 2008: Young, full bodied, rich and intense, the wine is loaded with dark fruit, which you can easily see in its color. There is intensity, earthyness, smoke, licorice, espresso and black cherry from start to finish. The wine is a fabulous balance between the sweet fruits, youthful character and promise of future complexities. 95/100 (2018)
