Beschreibung
James Suckling: OMG. What a glorious wine on the nose with aromas of blackberries, black licorice, ink and blood-oranges. Full-bodied, tight and powerful with compact tannins that cascade across the palate, giving this incredible structure and length that makes it seem to go on for ever. Titanium and graphite flavors. Super length. Half merlot and half cabernet franc. Try after 2025. 99/100 (2019)
Falstaff: Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung, intensive Herzkirschenfrucht, dunkles Beerenkonfit unterlegt, tabakig-gewürzig, feine Edelholznuancen, facettenreiches Bukett. 96/100 (2018)
Jancis Robinson: Tasted blind. Deep ruby colour. Dense and brooding on the nose, dark fruited with hints of incense. The palate is highly polished in fruit but bold in structure, chewy tannins persist from start to finish. Star anise and sweeter liquorice together with cedar in spice profile, this fights with the fruit for dominance but the balance is just about there. A raw, youthful and muscular style – wine that should be cellared and forgotten for a while. 17.5++/20 (2021)
Jeff Leve: One of the wines of the vintage, initially you find smoke, truffle, salt, cherries, kirsch, and underbrush on the nose. On the palate, you find freshness, vibrancy, chewy tannins and sweet, salty red fruits that linger. 97/100 (2022)
