Beschreibung
Robert Parker zu 2014: The 2014 Schloss Johannisberg Silberlack Riesling Trocken GG is clear and bright on the lemony and finely quartzite nose. Round and a little sweet on the palate, this is an elegant Riesling with porcini notes and a long, savory, saline and crystalline finish. It's an excellent Riesling from a very difficult vintage with warm rain during the harvest period. 95/100
Wine Enthusiast zu 2014: Delicate whiffs of spice and pine lend depth to crisp-tart white peach and grapefruit flavors in this spry yet penetrating Riesling. Dry on the palate, it's finely textured, as if etched by its acidity and stony mineral tones. It finishes with juicy, concentrated stone fruit flair. 94/100
Wine Enthusiast: Fresh apple and white floral aromas are dusted with caramelized sugar and smoke on this dry, mineral-tinged wine. Edgy and lean on the palate but supple in grapefruit flavor, it's a honed, steely white with polish and elegance. 91/100
Jancis Robinson zu 2013: I would have missed out on this one, had it not been brought to my attention by my Danish colleague Rolf Madsen, who made me taste his six favourite wines of the presentation blind. With over 400 wines some are bound to slip through the net, some I still hope to catch up with at other events, but even though my notebook had already been closed, this one merits more than just a recommendation. 18/20
Jancis Robinson zu 2014: The herbaceous expression on the nose and palate of the 2014 does not quite raise the same enthusiasm as the 2013 did. However there is a fair chance that at the moment of tasting the effect of spontaneous fermentation still outweighs the benefits of fruit and minerality. Weight on the palate and extract suggest that there is a latent quality waiting to emerge. 17/20
Jancis Robinson zu 2009: Quite grippy, full and green. Fuller than the 2008 and seems sweeter too. A little light to finish, perhaps? Certainly doesn't have the grandeur of the 2008. 16,5/20
Vinum Wine Magazine zu 2014: Finalist VINUM Riesling Champion 2016. 16,5/20
Jancis Robinson zu 2011: Intense and pungent nose. Off dry and nicely balanced in terms of acid and sugar. But without a great core of fruit on the mid palate. Though there is impressive vibrancy on the finish. 16/20
