Parker: The 2018 Riesling GG Kallstadter Saumagen opens with a clear and intense bouquet of bright, super ripe fruits and shows only a hint of chalk in the background. However, this changes to the opposite after a while of aeration. Full-bodied and powerful on the palate, this is a rich and warm Saumagen that needs years to gain finesse and reduce its power, so stay patient. The finish is powerful but also refreshing with good salinity and mineral drive. Tasted in March 2020. 92+/100
