Robert Parker: This incredible wine left a table of Burgundy lovers in awe. A heavenly nose of indescribably purity and charm…Pinot Noir in excelsis! Entrancing, bewitching, haunting: all these words are applicable. The aromatics evolve a slight ferrous scents after time in the glass. The palate does not disappoint with sublime harmony and balance, an effortless nature and surprisingly youthful and vivacious. Ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, a tangible minerality with a silky finish with brilliant delineation. Certainly one of the greatest 1985 Burgundy wines that I have encountered, indeed one the greatest wines to have passed my lips! 99/100

Jancis Robinson: Dark rusty blackish brick with yellow rim. Very rich liquorice nose. Lively and round and quite complex. Pretty dry finish, but lively and round. Sweeter than the 1991. 17/20
