Chateau Pontet-Canet 1993 (2 Fl.)

Parker: Pontet-Canet is a sleeping giant that is largely ignored by many Pauillac enthusiasts. I believe a slightly stricter selection and the harvesting of physiologically riper fruit would propel Pontet-Canet into the top echelon of Bordeaux wines. The wines have been very good over the last decade, as well as reasonably priced. The 1993 is a robust, dense, chewy Pauillac with gobs of cassis fruit and tannin, medium body. 86-88/100
