Schäfer Fröhlich Felseneck Riesling Spätlese 2008 (3 Fl.)

Parker: Lilac, green tea, mint, ripe honeydew melon, and blueberry in the nose of Schafer-Frohlich’s 2008 Bockenauer Felseneck Riesling Spatlese lead to an overtly sweet, creamy, and ultra-delicate and buoyant palate. And as with the corresponding Halenberg, brown spices (here, notably, cardamom) and hints of citrus rind impinge in the finish. This needs time to come to terms with its high residual sugar, but amid the finishing sweetness a lovely saline savor stimulates the salivary glands. Hold on to it for 12-15 years. 91/100
