Reinhold Haart Ohligsberg Riesling Spätlese 2009 (5 Fl.)

Parker: Boasting high acidity for its vintage, the Haart 2009 Wintricher Ohligsberg Rieslin Spatlese displays a corresponding sense of invigorating tartness, suggesting brown-spiced rhubarb preserves and lemon juice-laced grapefruit marmalade, yet for all of its brightness feeling almost custardy. The resulting counterpoint – incorporating also smoky crushed stone notes – is superbly expressive and stimulates the imagination as much as it does one’s salivary glands, though I suppose some may find the dichotomy disconcerting. I suspect we have a good candidate for close to two decades of rewards here, and one that will probably be best forgotten for the next 6-8 years. 91/100
