Beschreibung
Lobenberg: Lobenberg: Schwarz Rubinrot. Hocharomatische Nase, Röstaromen, etwas Vanille, schwarze Kirsche, schwarze Johannisbeere. Sehr rassig. Singend, spannungsgeladen, dramatisch, extrem schöne Nase. Auch im Mund wieder ähnliche Harmonie und Rasse zugleich zeigend. Schwarzkirsche, sehr feine, aber massive, kraftvolle Tannine. Enorm tief, gleichzeitig rund. Sehr mineralisch, vielleicht sogar ein wenig frische Minze dabei, weißer Pfeffer. Großer, feiner, langer, frischer, sehr rassiger Mouton. Ganz großer Erfolg. 100/100
Parker: Tasted at the Mouton-Rothschild vertical in London, the 2010 Mouton-Rothschild is a modern-day benchmark for the First Growth and here, side-by-side with the 2009, it certainly has its nose in front. It is in possession of quite breathtaking delineation and precision, a crystalline bouquet with black fruit laced with minerals, potent pencil shaving notes, a touch of cold slate. It is totally entrancing. The palate has beguiling symmetry, but for me what really distinguishes this Mouton is its effortlessness. Like watching Usain Bolt in his prime sprinting to another world record, this wine is almost self-effacing in terms of its brilliance. Will Philippe Dhalluin ever better this Mouton-Rothschild? Keep it in the cellar for 15 years, if you know what's good for you. 99/100 (2017)
Suckling: Clearly a perfect wine that shows incredible depth of fruit with currants, dark chocolate, minerals and licorice. Full-bodied, tight and wound up with ripe tannins that let go and seduce you. Makes me want to drink it now. But this is a wine for the long term. Extraordinary. 94% cabernet sauvignon. 100/100 (2015)
Galloni: A wine of noble bearing and exceptional beauty, the 2010 Mouton Rothschild is a flat-out stunner. The aromatics alone are beguiling. On the palate, the wine is every bit as thrilling, with myriad layers of flavor that continue to open up in the glass. Graphite, gravel, smoke, plum, black cherry and savory herbs are all strikingly delineated throughout. Vivid and crystalline, the 2010 is a jewel of a wine, but it is impossibly young now. Readers who can be patient will be treated to a fabulous wine. Today, the 2010 reminds me of a more civilized version of the 1986. The 2010 is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon (the highest amount of Cabernet ever here). Dollops of Merlot round out the blend.
Harvest took place between September 29 and October 13. 100/100 (2016)
Wine Spectator: This remains the stunner, a battleship of a wine, brimming with cassis, blackberry and fig fruit that has melded together now, with the backdrop of alder, bay leaf and menthol starting to emerge a bit more. The long finish is loaded with grip, pulling the fruit and other components together. And then there's that flash of iron at the very end. Awesome wine. -- Non-blind Mouton-Rothschild vertical (March 2017). Best from 2025 through 2060. 99/100 (2017)
Jane Anson: Hard to give a wine of the vintage in 2010, as there are so many exceptional bottles from the top estates, but it’s not so hard to say that Pauillac is the appellation of the year – and this Mouton shows you why. Gunsmoke and campfire aromatics, glamorously encapsulating the house style with its plush and juicy damson and black cherry fruits, supremely confident, studded with pomegranate, orange peel, cumin and freshly cut herbs, generous without relinquishing control, deceptively supple tannins that know exactly what to do. Will deliver for decades, and it is an exceptionally beautiful wine. 100% new oak, Philippe Dhalluin director. Tasted ex-retail, not ex-château. 100/100
