Parker: The 2010 Alto Adige Chardonnay Löwengang Tenutae Lageder is a delightful wine that stands far removed from its peers in terms of intensity and overall purity. It opens to a luminous, crystalline appearance with golden streaks of brilliance within. The wine rests on the lees in barrique (a mix of Tronçais, Vosges, Nevers and Allier, of which half are new oak) for up to 11 months. Carefully implemented oak nuances give the wine an amazing sense of richness and balance in the mouth. This is an important Chardonnay that remains pure and delineated, yet generous and expansive at the same time. You could pair it with shellfish or bouillabaisse. It has the freshness and natural structure for additional cellar aging. 92/100
Falstaff: Glänzendes, leuchtendes Strohgelb mit grünen Nuancen. Kompakte und klare Nase, zeigt sich mit feinem Duft nach Ananas, etwas Birne, im Hintergrund dezente Holznoten, sehr gut eingebunden. Funkelt am Gaumen, öffnet sich mit feinen mineralischen Noten, salzig, rund und geschmeidig im Verlauf, die rassige Säure gibt Spiel, im Finale fester Druck. 92/100
